Do the tiny things matter?

Over the last few days I've had a strange idea about tiny things in life. And about the importance of them. But in order for this idea to really take foot I needed to drill out the proverbial holes in my mind where my guy center was and let in some fresh air. Because as a guy I've learned that tiny things can mean the difference for many people in life.

Particularly for women.

Now don't get me wrong, I love woman just as much as the next guy. But there are times where I have to sit back and utter the words all men (heck even other woman) have said about the actions some girls do.

"You are all crazy!"

Yes! That's right. Women you are crazy for the tiny things.

Why? "Well Greg the tiny things matter"

Really?

They do?

Since when?

And how?

See this is where I would normally take the guy route here, but instead I'm going to do something a little different and instead of being a guy I'm going to be a logical human.

So ladies (and yes even for a ton of men as well) listen up cause now I will begin the rant.

*rant powers on*

Let us first take a look at how tiny things are important here. Because in order to wrap your head around the idea that tiny things are not important you have to the one idea first.

So lets look at what a tiny thing is. For that I want the reader to picture a wall if you will. It is tall and wide for our purpose it is a classic example of a red brick wall. You know the ones from say the Three little pigs story. Where the house was made of bricks. There is cement there that holds the wall together nicely and its quite a nice structure to say the least.

That being said this is an instance where a tiny thing can be both important and not important. For example, lets say I wanted to remove one of the bricks from the wall. The thing is that when I removed a brick from said wall where do I pull it from. Well if I pulled it from the top of the wall the tiny thing isn't truly that important now is it. See if its at the top of the wall the who thing won't collapse on me. Sure it may not look right but for now its still a good serviceable wall. (granted some snotty kids may thing of climbing the wall and the hole at the top makes it easier to get over but that's not for now) See when I removed the brick from the top it wasn't that important at all. Wall still works all is good.

This is an example of when a tiny thing isn't bad. Its just one brick. Its not a whole row of bricks its just the one. Now that being said there are people out there who would freak out over that one brick being removed. Now those people who do freak out of that one brick are what society call idiots. The reason I say that word is because at that moment in time they must have thought that the one brick will sustain the wall. But in truth the wall isn't falling over or anything. Its still workable. Heck you can even put in a new brick at the top. But no. No no no no nononononoonnonoonononono.....

No.

For those idiots who believe the one brick is going to cause trouble are true and utter fools. Why? because they believe that the one tiny thing that's at the top of the wall is worth worrying over. Why they worry about it is purely a lost of brain function in their heads (or maybe they were hit in the head, I don't know) but regardless there are people who freak out over said tiny things.

But the bricks at the top aren't important. This is the honest truth. The whole wall AS A WHOLE is still intact. It can be fixed it can be repaired it can be mended. People in their freaking out seem to forget about that.

NOW!!!! Let's take a look further down the wall. And lets say that I started pulling a brick from the utmost right corner of the wall. The bottem portion of course. If I were to removed the brick from here what would happen. Naturally the wall would start to teeter and crumble. Now if I was a reasonable person (which I try to be) I would quickly rush to said wall and with all I could make it so another brick would be placed where the old one was removed. I would rush in with cement and put it on the wall and the wall would stabilize (yes I know that's not true with real walls but this one is in your head so just run with it)

Now that being said, the person who freaked out over the brick at the top usually does one of two things. They either A, will freak out like they did with the one on top. OR B. They will do NOTHING!!!!

See this is where I will draw the line and ask those people who would not freak out over their red walls falling over. How you can freak out over the top not being right. But when something is more important (brick holding the wall up actually) you would do nothing to stop it from falling down.

That's the experience I've dealt with in the past. And how women (yes I say women cause that's my experience) would let that sort of thing go. When in fact its more important then the one on top. It holds the whole wall up. Its the one thing that truly matters.

So why would you let it go?

All this talk of walls is an example of relationships between people. Where the friendship, marriage, etc, is based on. (Granted a walls a silly idea but it gets my point across on tiny things)

See there are things in life that are worth fighting for. The tiny things that do matter the most are the ones that are at the bottom of the wall itself. Things like ex. Being beaten by a boyfriend, payments for cars, being open and honest about something. Those are some of the things that should be more important to someone. Not the ones you put on the top of the wall.

Now granted, most people, when they build walls, have them set up differently. Some put things one the top that should be the foundation, and things that were on the bottom up into the sky where they are pointless.

That's where I have to draw the line and ask the ladies and gents whats really worth fighting for in a relationship with someone. Is something as stupid as he picks his teeth with his fork after dinner really that important of an argument that you would break up for it (I know that sounds silly but I'm pretty sure someone out there did that). The tiny things people do that truly annoy you in life shouldn't be the ones that bring down the wall.

There are things you should be aware of that should be taken into account though. Like being beaten by an abusive spouse. There are people out there who refuse to leave the said person even though they should.

Its a strange topic to be sure. But here's the one thing I want to get across to people

There are things worth fighting over. But there will be far more of things YOU SHOULDN'T fight over. The tiny things that truly don't matter at all. And though you may think to yourself that they do. In the end, they don't.

How we hurt: A look into the heart

People are fragile.

They really are if you look at it correctly.

People are very sensitive to many things in this world. With our minds being the size they are and the lengths we have come to establish our worlds humans as a race are extreamely versatile.

And at the same time we are breakable.

It doesn't take much to hurt someone. It can be something physical. Like a blow to the face, or a kick to the shins. Even a knee to the groin can be painful. A person is so fragile they can be hurt by mearly saying a specific word or phrase. People take these things so seriously at times its baffling.

But the one hurt that truly trumpts them all is silence.

Humans are social creatures. We were created that way and raised from children to adults to communicate what we feel, think and other forms of ideas that come to our minds.

When you take away that though, the silence is defining.

The human brain is constently thinking. Even when we manage to stop our minds and clear it. The mind still manages breathing, muscles, nerves, etc. The body is always in a moving state.

So what makes silence so deadly? It stops the mind in it tracks. It cause the mind to freeze and thoughts and questions come to our minds.

What's going on? What is happening? I don't understand?

These three questions are the fuel that feeds the fire of silence. They constently go through our minds when silence comes to us. But we think to ourselves that its ok. Things are fine. We shove the feelings down so hard its hurts yourself to do it.

But that's when the thoughts begin to fester like wounds. They rot and begin to grow in size to where you cannot hold them down anymore. They change your way of thinking.

And thus fear is born in your heart.

Fear is the child of silence. Because of our ineptitude to communicate with one another we create fear from silence.

Why does fear control us so much? It goes back to the roots of us being monkeys. We feel pain we want to run. That is the trait that lives in all of us. No matter how hard we fight it we all want to run away from pain. To run away from fear. To run away from the troubles that plague our lives. For we humans do not like pain at all. Whether its on our bodies or in our hearts, pain is a real thing that will never go away.

Unless you die, pain will always exist in life. It is a hard thing to deal with. There are many facits of it that I could go into but this is the one thing I know for sure.

Silence is evil. If you want to be silent, then you feed fear. You feed the choice to make our fears real.

Truth was created though to usurp fear. It clears the skies of the clouds and the storms that fear casts upon our lives and brings understanding to us all.

Truth can save many. But few choose to use it though. Why? Because truth can be painful too. It can hurt more then lying or shoving away the pain. The route of truth is a hard one to take.

But it can also be the right one as well. Truth can set you free from life. Truth can help you when the darkness grows around you. Why would someone want to hide the truth from others?

That is what truly makes me wonder why people run. For the truth, though it hurts makes life easier. It takes away the pain. Like a bandade the truth can either be quick with a slight bit of pain. or it can be agonizing long when you peel it off.

My advice for those reading? The truth fights fear doubt and what you believe to be wrong. Use it and it can make your life better.
